This resource compiles publicly available information from municipal records, planning documents, code enforcement offices, public meetings, annual reports, public notices, state agencies, and other public sources.
This resource is independently prepared by the Sebago Lake Contractor Index and is not affiliated with any municipality or government agency. Information may be incomplete or delayed depending on municipal publication schedules and the availability of public records.

Most Maine municipalities do not publish permit data online in real time. Data collection requires direct contact and, in many cases, FOAA requests. As a result, permit data in this system generally reflects activity from the recent past rather than the current week. This is acknowledged in each report.
The ten towns in the coverage area vary significantly in administrative capacity, online publication practices, and records organization. Coverage depth will be uneven, particularly in early phases. Larger, better-resourced municipalities generally have more accessible records. This system's coverage depth for each town will improve as data collection procedures mature.
Planning board agendas are published by municipalities with varying lead times. Minutes are typically published after approval at the subsequent meeting. As a result, planning board content may reflect decisions made several weeks before publication in some towns.
Not all construction activity requires a permit. Minor repairs, interior work below certain thresholds, and certain agricultural structures may proceed without permits depending on local ordinance. This system covers only permitted and publicly recorded activity.
Every record in this system carries a confidence designation. Readers should understand what each means before acting on any information found here.

The Sebago Lake Contractor Index is a private directory resource for the Sebago Lake and Western Maine Lake Region. The intelligence system is an extension of that resource, providing public records context for contractors, property owners, real estate professionals, developers, and others with legitimate interest in regional construction activity.
